Children's Ministry Lesson for August 17

Children's Ministry News

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Solomon Built the Temple

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: Solomon Built the Temple
Story Point from 1 Kings 6-8: Solomon built a temple for God to dwell with his people.
Family Bible Reading: Don’t be wise in your own eyes; fear the LORD and turn away from evil. Proverbs 3:7
Big Picture Question: What does God know?
Big Picture Answer: God knows everything about the past, present, and future.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • God met with His people in the temple, but God wants to be with us now wherever we are. God loves us, and He sent Jesus to be with people and save them from their sin.
Gospel Tykes (ages 3 - 5 years old)
  • The temple was where God met with His people. God wants to be with us. Because God loves us, He sent Jesus to earth to be with people and save them from their sin.
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • Solomon built the temple, but he knew that the fullness of God did not live there. Jesus is the fullness of God, and He came to dwell on earth (John 1:14). Only those who trust in Him will be forgiven of their sin and live with God forever.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
  • Solomon built the temple, but he knew that the fullness of God did not live there. Jesus is the fullness of God, and He came to dwell on earth (John 1:14). Only those who trust in Him will be forgiven of their sin and live with God forever.
