Children's Ministry Lesson for August 16

This Sunday is Promotion Sunday! Our rising kindergarteners and rising third graders will attend their new classes this Sunday, and we'll recognize and celebrate our rising 6th graders who will be transitioning from Children's Ministry to Youth GC!

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:

• Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
• Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
• Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
• Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade

We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  

And now for this week's lesson... 

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about:Jesus Forgives and Heals
Story Point from Matthew 9; Mark 2; Luke 5: Jesus showed his power by forgiving sin.
Family Bible Reading: Let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father in heaven. Matthew 5:16
Big Picture Question: What did Jesus teach when he was on earth?
Big Picture Answer: Jesus taught about God and His kingdom. He taught that all Scripture is about Him.

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)

• Jesus can forgive sins and heal people because Jesus is God. 

Gospel Tykes (ages 3 - 5 years old) 

• Jesus helped a man who could not walk. Jesus also forgave the man’s sins. Jesus can do this because Jesus is God.

Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)

• By forgiving the man's sins, Jesus revealed that He is God. Jesus has power to heal and forgive. Only through faith in Jesus can people be saved from their sins.

Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)

• By forgiving the man's sins, Jesus revealed that He is God. Jesus has power to heal and forgive. Only through faith in Jesus can people be saved from their sins.
