Children's Ministry Lesson for October 5

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:

• Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old 
• Gospel Tykes - ages 2 - 5 Years Old 
• Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
• Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade 

We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.  

And now for this week's lesson... 

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about:Elijah Confronted Ahab
Story Point from 1 Kings 18-19: God proved he is the one true God by answering Elijah's prayers.
Family Bible Reading: May all the peoples of the earth know that the Lord is God. There is no other! 1 Kings 8:60
Big Picture Question: How many gods are there?
Big Picture Answer: There is one true God who alone deserves worship.

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)

• God is the only true God who sent Jesus to die for our sins.

Gospel Tykes (ages 2 - 5 years old)  

• God sent fire to show everyone He is the real God. When Jesus came, the Holy Spirit came like a dove to show that Jesus is God’s Son.

Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)

• God sent fire down from heaven to prove that He alone is Lord. God sent the Holy Spirit like flames of fire on Jesus' disciples to empower them to tell others that Jesus is God's Son who saves people from sin.

Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)

• God sent fire down from heaven to prove that He alone is Lord. God sent the Holy Spirit like flames of fire on Jesus' disciples to empower them to tell others that Jesus is God's Son who saves people from sin.
