Children's Ministry Lesson for June 22

Children's Ministry News

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Saul Disobeyed God

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: Saul Disobeyed God
Story Point from 1 Samuel 14-15: God rejected Saul as king because he disobeyed God’s commands.
Family Bible Reading: The LORD has established his throne in heaven, and his kingdom rules over all. Psalm 103:19
Big Picture Question: Who is our King?
Big Picture Answer:  Jesus is our King forever, and He rules over all the world.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • Our sin keeps us from God. Only Jesus has no sin. When we trust in Jesus, God forgives our sin so we can be with Him forever.
Gospel Tykes (ages 3 - 5 years old)
  • Saul disobeyed God and was rejected as king. Sin is disobeying God. Only Jesus perfectly obeyed God. When we believe in Jesus and ask Him to forgive our sin, He forgives us.
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • Saul disobeyed God’s commands and was rejected as king. We all disobey God’s commands when we sin. Only Jesus perfectly obeyed God at all times. When we believe in Jesus, we are made right with God and accepted by Him.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
  • Saul disobeyed God’s commands and was rejected as king. We all disobey God’s commands when we sin. Only Jesus perfectly obeyed God at all times. When we believe in Jesus, we are made right with God and accepted by Him.
