Children's Ministry Lesson for May 4

Children's Ministry News

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Samson and the Philistines

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: Samson and the Philistines
Story Point from Judges 13-16: Samson learned that strength comes from God alone.
Family Bible Reading: [If] my people, who bear my name, humble themselves, pray and seek my face, and turn from their evil ways, then I will hear from heaven, forgive their sin, and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14
Big Picture Question: What is repentance?
Big Picture Answer:  Repentance is turning away from sin and turning to Jesus.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • God used Samson to save His people. God sent His Son, Jesus, to save us from our sins and give us life with God forever.
Gospel Tykes (ages 3 -5 years old)
  • Like Samson helped his people, Jesus helps us. Jesus died and came back to life to save us from our mistakes and give us life with God forever
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • Samson’s great strength came from God alone. He had no power to defeat the Philistines on his own. We cannot please God on our own. Through faith in Jesus, people are saved from sin and receive the Holy Spirit, who helps them live to please God.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
