Children's Ministry Lesson for November 2

Children's Ministry News

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 2 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

The Northern Kingdom Was Destroyed

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: The Northern Kingdom Was Destroyed
Story Point from 2 Kings 17: God judged Israel's sin, and Assyria destroyed the Northern Kingdom.
Family Bible Reading: You must follow the LORD your God and fear him. You must keep his commands and listen to him; you must worship him and remain faithful to him. Deuteronomy 13:4
Big Picture Question: Why do Christians continue to sin?
Big Picture Answer: Christians continue to sin because we still have a sin nature, but when Jesus returns, he will make us sinless like him.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • When we do not listen to God, we can pray and ask God to forgive us. Jesus took our punishment so we can be with God forever.
Gospel Tykes (ages 2 - 5 years old)
  • When the people in Israel did not listen to God, God let them be taken away. We sometimes do not listen to God too, but Jesus took our punishment so we can be with God forever.
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • The kingdom of Israel was destroyed because of their sin. We all sin against God and deserve death, but God sent Jesus to die in our place. Because of Jesus, those who trust in Him will never be removed from God's presence.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
