Children's Ministry Lesson for December 7

Children's Ministry News

*TOY DRIVE! Gospel Life Church Children's Ministry is participating in a Toy Drive for the Comal County Child Welfare Board! We have an opportunity to show God's generous love by supporting children who are placed into Foster Care just before Christmas. Please bring a new, unwrapped toy to the lobby on December 7th or 14th to support this cause, and consider attaching a note of encouragement to the children or caregivers as well.
The Comal County Child Welfare Board has also asked for contributions of gift wrap and HEB or Walmart gift cards to help alleviate stress for caregivers who have lost their SNAP benefits; you may drop those in the donation box as well!

*JESUS AND JAMMIES: On December 14th, wear your PJs to church!

*KIDS HELP LEAD SONGS: On December 21, our Children's Ministry will help lead two songs from stage at the start of our gathering! If your child would like to participate, rehearsal will be held at 9:15am on December 21. Here are the links to the correct versions of the songs they'll help lead: Joy to the World and Oh Come All Ye Faithful.

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 2 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Judah Was Taken Captive

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: Judah Was Taken Captive
Story Point from 2 Chronicles 36: The people's consequence for disobeying God was exile to Babylon.
Family Bible Reading: The LORD is good to everyone; his compassion rests on all he has made. Psalm 145:9
Big Picture Question: What is God like?
Big Picture Answer: God is holy, good, and loving.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • Jesus died for our sins and rose again. If we trust in Him, God forgives all our sins.
Gospel Tykes (ages 2 - 5 years old)
  • Doing wrong things has consequences. But the good news is that Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died for us. He came back to life! If we trust in Him, God forgives all our sins.
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • The people of Judah continued to sin and were destroyed by Babylon. Even though God was patient, all sin deserves judgment. God's patience is meant to lead us to repentance. Those who repent and trust in Jesus will escape God's judgment.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
  • The people of Judah continued to sin and were destroyed by Babylon. Even though God was patient, all sin deserves judgment. God's patience is meant to lead us to repentance. Those who repent and trust in Jesus will escape God's judgment.
