Mission & Values

Mission

Our mission is essentially the mandate Jesus has given all believers - The Great Commission. Here at Gospel Life Church, we express that by saying, "We exist to invite those around us to embrace the good news of Jesus in all of life."

Values

Our values represent our deepest held ideals – what we are not willing to sacrifice in the pursuit of our mission. They are shared convictions among the leadership and believers at Gospel Life Church that motivate all we do and define the culture of our ministry.

The Authority of Scripture

Demonstrated by the expositional preaching and teaching of Scripture during Sunday Gatherings and ministry events, believing Scripture as the source of truth and sound doctrine, and submitting to the teachings of Scripture in all matters of faith and godliness (2 Timothy 3:16-17, Hebrews 4:12, 2 Peter 1:19-21).

The Necessity of Love

Demonstrated by displaying kindness and humility toward the body of saints, empathizing with and meeting the needs of those around us, and patiently enduring with those that sin against us (1 Corinthians 12:31-13:7, John 13:35).

Gospel Centrality

Demonstrated by the weekly preaching of the gospel, partaking of the ordinances, reminding ourselves of the gospel as the primary means of sanctification, and seeking transformation through the gospel in all of life (1 Corinthians 9:16, 1 Corinthians 15:1-3, Colossians 1:3-6).

Intentional Community

Demonstrated by binding ourselves to one another through a membership covenant, prioritizing our weekly Sunday and Gospel Community Gatherings, discipling one another to grow in Christlikeness, and caring for one another’s needs (1 Corinthians 12:20-27, Hebrews 10:24-25, Ephesians 4:15-16).

Missional Living

Demonstrated by carrying out our calling as ambassadors of Christ entrusted with the ministry of reconciliation, submitting all areas of our life to Christ to fulfill this calling, and intentionally seeking to build relationships with those around us to share the gospel in both word and deed (2 Corinthians 5:18-20, 1 Corinthians 7:17, Ephesians 2:10, Galatians 6:10).

Prayer

Demonstrated by purposefully praying during Sunday Gatherings and ministry events, seeking to grow in the discipline of prayer as individuals, within our families, and within our Gospel Communities, and posturing ourselves in dependence upon God through prayer for the good works He has called us to (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18, 1 Timothy 2:8, Luke 18:1-8, Matthew 6:5-13).
