Children's Ministry Lesson for November 20

Children's Ministry News

Last year, over 10.5 million shoebox gifts were packed!  Those shoeboxes weigh the same amount as more than 500,000 alpacas!  Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes are due this Sunday, November 20!  Drop them off when you come to church and don't forget to attach the label to the box and scan your QR code to follow along and see where your box ends up.  There will be rubber bands available to close your box.  You can also pay the $10 donation using the QR code to cover shipping for the boxes.  Box drop off will be at the child check in station or at the back table in the sanctuary.
For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: God's People Were Taken Captive

Story Point:  God was right to punish His people for their sin, but He kept His promise to provide a king through David’s family. Ultimately, God punished our sin through His Son, Jesus, and made Him our King forever.

Family Bible Reading:  For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. Psalm 139:13-14

Big Picture Question: What makes people special?

Big Picture Answer:   People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.
