Water Damage to the Church Building

GLC Family,

Today we're addressing you all with some unfortunate news. On Wednesday afternoon, we were made aware that a pipe had burst in the ceiling of the church, above the second story restrooms. Upon arriving to the church, we encountered extensive damage to the ceilings, walls, flooring, and other infrastructure. While we are saddened by this event, we are ultimately thankful for God's graciousness. We're thankful that an event of this magnitude has not occurred in any of our member's homes. We're thankful no one was hurt. We're thankful that all our GLC Family seems to be enduring this weather event relatively well.

We've already contacted our insurance company and a claim has been filed. Additionally, we've been in contact with a water remediation company and they will be out in the next day or two in order to remove the water and begin addressing the water damage. I'm sure many of you are wondering how you can help. When we have a better assessment of what needs to be done, we will be sure to let you know.

As of now, our facilities are unusable. For this Sunday, February 21st, we will be livestreaming our sermon and worship in lieu of our Sunday Gathering. The stream will be available via The Church App, Facebook, and YouTube. As for future Sunday Gatherings, we will keep you all informed as we're able to assess the damage to the building and the viability of meeting there. Below is information for upcoming events:

  • February 20: GC Leader Sync (cancelled)
  • February 21: Sunday Gathering (livestream at 10AM)
  • February 21: Coffee with the Pastors (cancelled)
  • March 4: Covenant Member Gathering (TBD)

Right now we would greatly benefit from your prayers as we seek wisdom and discernment moving forward. Our endeavor is to make wise decisions to care for the infrastructure the Lord has entrusted to us, all the while trusting in His sovereignty over all things. We are thankful for the Lord's graciousness and generosity - even in times as these there is much to be grateful for.

If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out.

Blessings,
The GLC Elder Team
