Children's Ministry Lesson for November 6

Children's Ministry News

We have a wonderful opportunity at GLC to participate in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.  Samaritan's Purse is bringing shoebox gifts and the Good News of Jesus Christ to some of the most remote corners of the globe.  This is a wonderful opportunity to teach our children about giving and the love of Jesus!

Starting Sunday, November 6, we will shoeboxes and labels available to help get you started on packing your shoebox.  If you'd like to participate, please bring your packed shoebox back to GLC on Sunday, November 20.

This is a church wide event that all can participate in, even if you don't have children in the Children's Ministry!  There will be information and shoeboxes at the back table in the sanctuary.
For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Jonah Warned of God's Judgement

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about:  Jonah warned of God's judgement!
Story Point:  God called Jonah to go to his enemies and call them to turn away from their sin, but Jonah refused. Instead, he ran away. Later, God sent Jesus to His enemies to call us to repentance. Jesus willingly obeyed. Jesus died on the cross to rescue us from sin.
Family Bible Reading:  For it was you who created my inward parts; you knit me together in my mother’s womb. I will praise you because I have been remarkably and wondrously made. Your works are wondrous, and I know this very well. Psalm 139:13-14
Big Picture Question: What makes people special?
Big Picture Answer:   People are special because we are made in God’s image, as male and female, to know Him.
