Children's Ministry Lesson for October 15

Children's Ministry News

We have a wonderful opportunity at GLC to participate in Samaritan's Purse Operation Christmas Child.  Samaritan's Purse is bringing shoebox gifts and the Good News of Jesus Christ to some of the most remote corners of the globe.  This is a wonderful opportunity to teach our children about giving and the love of Jesus!

Starting Sunday, October 15, we will have shoeboxes and labels available to help get you started on packing your shoebox.  If you'd like to participate, please bring your packed shoebox back to GLC on Sunday, November 12.

This is a church-wide event that all can participate in, even if you don't have children in the Children's Ministry!  There will be information and shoeboxes at the Child Check-in table.

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1 - 2 Years Old
  • Gospel Tykes - ages 3 - 5 Years Old
  • Gospel Kids - K - 2nd Grade
  • Gospel Students - 3rd - 5th Grade
We use the Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story, the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

Jesus Shared a Last Meal!

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about:  Jesus Shared a Last Meal
Story Point:  God’s people had broken the old covenant, and God promised to make a new covenant to forgive sins. The new covenant says that everyone who turns away from sin and trusts in Jesus’ death and resurrection will be forgiven of his sins and will have eternal life.
Family Bible Reading:  For we … have a high priest … who has been tempted in every way as we are, yet without sin. Hebrews 4:15
Big Picture Question:  How is Jesus the perfect Priest?
Big Picture Answer:  Jesus was the perfect sacrifice for sin, and He speaks to God the Father for us today.
