Children's Ministry Lesson for January 16

Children's Ministry News

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1-3
  • Gospel Tykes/Kids - ages 4-8
  • Gospel Students - ages 9-11 or 3rd-5th grade

We are asking our parents, before dropping your child off in class, please wash your little ones hands.  Thank you!

We use Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story; the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this weeks lesson...

The People Worshipped a Golden Calf

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: The people worshipped a golden calf.
Story Point:  Moses acted as the people’s mediator, standing for them before God. Moses could not do anything to make up for their sin, but we have a better Mediator—Jesus. Jesus paid for our sin on the cross and stands for us before God. When we trust in Jesus, our sins are forgiven.
Family Bible Reading:  Psalm 95:6
Big Picture Question:  What is worship?
Big Picture Answer:  Worship is celebrating the goodness of God.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1-3)
  • God forgives people through Moses.
Gospel Tykes/Kids (ages 4-8)
  • Moses talked to God for the people.  When we sin, Jesus talks to God for us.  Jesus never sinned.  God forgives those that trust in Jesus.
Gospel Students (ages 9-11)
  • Moses acted as the people’s mediator, standing for them before God. Moses could not do anything to make up for their sin, but we have a better Mediator—Jesus. Jesus paid for our sin on the cross and stands for us before God. When we trust in Jesus, our sins are forgiven.
