Children's Ministry Lesson for October 17

Children's Ministry News

GLC Parents, the time has come and we have officially moved our classes upstairs!  All of our classes will be held upstairs while they begin renovations on the downstairs rooms.  That being said, our Gospel Tots (ages 1-3) will be upstairs along with our Gospel Tykes/Kids (ages 4-8) and Gospel Students (ages 9-11).  The check-in process remains the same as before: check in your child downstairs at child check-in, then depending on the age of the child, you will either take them upstairs for Gospel Tots, or they will stay in service with you until dismissed Gospel Tykes/Kids and Gospel Students.

For this Sunday, we will have classes for:
  • Gospel Tots - ages 1-3
  • Gospel Tykes/Kids - ages 4-8
  • Gospel Students - ages 9-11 or 3rd-5th grade
THIS IS IMPORTANT:  Please don't forget to get your children  from class once service is dismissed.

We use Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story; the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this week's lesson...

People Rebel Against God

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: People Rebel Against God!
Story Point: People wanted glory for themselves instead of God. They ignored God’s plan, so God confused their language and scattered them all over the earth. One day, Jesus will gather together all of God’s people—from every tribe and language—and they will worship Him together.
Family Bible Reading: Romans 3:23
Big Picture Question: What does it mean to sin?
Big Picture Answer:  To sin is to think, speak or behave in any way that goes against God and His commands.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1-3)
  • People will worship Jesus.
Gospel Tykes/Kids (ages 4-8)
  • People disobeyed God, so God mixed up their language and spread the people over the earth. One day, Jesus will bring His people back together. People from every language will worship Him together.
Gospel Students (ages 9-11)
  • People wanted glory for themselves instead of God. They ignored God’s plan, so God confused their language and scattered them all over the earth. One day, Jesus will gather together all of God’s people—from every tribe and language—and they will worship Him together.
