Building Update: February 24, 2021

GLC Family,

We wanted to take a moment to provide you all with a brief update regarding the church facilities. On Monday, February 22, the insurance adjuster came out and visited the property, documenting all the damage sustained. His job will be to make recommendations to the insurance company regarding what needs to be repaired or replaced, along with estimates of the cost to do so. Please pray that the insurance company would respond favorably to his recommendations and that sufficient funds would be secured to handle all the work.

We've already met with a general contractor and, as of this morning, they are onsite to begin the cleanup process. The goal is to ensure all damaged material is removed and the building is able to completely dry out. From there, once more information is received from our adjuster and/or the insurance company, we can begin to build a budget for the work that needs to be done and begin to execute.

As it regards meeting in the facility, our hope is to tentatively be able to meet there this Sunday, February 28. Our focus at the moment is ensuring that the sanctuary and restrooms are clean, dry, and functional. At this point, until we're able to address the children's classrooms more fully, we would not be able to offer children's ministry classes, which means that if we do meet at the facility this Sunday, it would be a family service. We will keep you updated as we endeavor to meet that goal.

Please continue to pray for wisdom and discernment as we move forward - that we would steward all resources available to us to the best of our ability and to the glory of God. As there are opportunities to serve, we will let you know. We know many of you are interested in the damage sustained to the facilities, so we've included some photos below. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out. Your continued prayers and support are dearly appreciated!

Blessings,
The GLC Elder Team
