COVID-19 Update: December 15, 2020

GLC Family,

Good Tuesday afternoon to you all! We wanted to take a quick moment to communicate our current response to COVID-19. Presently, we have no major changes to report. With the positivity rate currently at 26.18% and a trend that seems to indicate an increase in local cases, we do not feel like now is the appropriate time to change course. Our understanding is that GA-29, issued by Gov. Abbott, is still in effect, which “strongly encourages” persons obtaining access to religious services to wear a face covering.

As we have stated before, looking to the future, our aim is to communicate our course of action as needed, whether it be to provide clarity or to update you all on changes to our plan. Our desire is to give you some idea of what we hope the future will look like, yet all the while reserve the ability to make changes necessary as new information comes to light.

You may refer to our post from September 22 to refresh yourselves with our current approach. All this information is still current with the exception that we now only require registration for our Gospel Tots class.

We ask for your continued prayers and support during this season. With the development of a vaccine, we are hopeful that a significant milestone in our return to normal Sunday Gatherings has been reached as individuals will have the personal option to choose to receive the vaccine, which could make face coverings optional. Please understand this is what we hope to see as the situation develops. As always, we will continue to employ wisdom and discernment as we aim to lead our congregation responsibly.

We exhort you to continue to love one another well, patiently enduring as we seek to be conformed to the image of Christ.

Blessings,
The GLC Elder Team
