We use Gospel Project for Kids curriculum for the Children's Ministry at GLC.  The Gospel Project for Kids is a Christ-centered ongoing weekly Bible study resource that looks at the big picture of God's story; the story of redemption through Jesus Christ. Each week, kids of all ages will follow a chronological timeline of Bible events, all the while learning how each story points to the gospel of Jesus Christ.

And now for this weeks lesson...

David Sinned and Was Forgiven

This upcoming Sunday your child will learn about: David Sinned and Was Forgiven
Story Point:  When David repented of his sin, God forgave him, but sin always comes with a price. God spared David’s life, but David’s son died. When we sin, we deserve death. But we can receive God’s forgiveness because God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sin.
Family Bible Reading: Ephesians 1:7
Big Picture Question: What is grace?
Big Picture Answer:  Grace is when God gives us something good even when we do not deserve it.

Gospel Gems to Discuss at Home

Gospel Tots (ages 1 & 2 years old)
  • God forgives our sin when we trust in Jesus.
Gospel Tykes (ages 3 -5 years old)
  • When we sin, God forgives us because Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross.
Gospel Kids (K - 2nd grade)
  • God hates sin because it dishonors Him and hurts us and other people. When we sin, God forgives us because Jesus took the punishment for our sins when He died on the cross. Jesus changes our heart so that we no longer want to sin.
Gospel Students (3rd - 5th grade)
  • When David repented of his sin, God forgave him, but sin always comes with a price. God spared David’s life, but David’s son died. When we sin, we deserve death. But we can receive God’s forgiveness because God sent His Son, Jesus, to pay the price for our sin.
